Cookie Policy

Last updated: 23 October 2026

This policy explains how Documentello uses cookies and similar browser storage on documentello.com, in the Documentello application, and on documentation sites hosted by Documentello.

What these technologies are

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. Similar technologies, such as session storage, can keep limited information in your browser for the duration of a visit. These technologies can remember a session, protect a request, retain a necessary preference, or maintain the continuity of a feature.

How Documentello uses them

Essential cookies

We use essential cookies to keep users signed in, protect forms and requests from forgery, balance and secure traffic, and maintain other functionality required for the service to work. These cookies cannot be disabled through Documentello because the affected functionality would stop working.

Landing page analytics

On documentello.com only, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use our landing page. Google Analytics may use cookies and similar technologies and receive information such as visited pages, approximate location, device and browser information, and referring pages. We load Google Analytics only after you consent. We do not use analytics on the Documentello application or published documentation sites.

Published documentation

Simply reading published documentation does not create a visitor cookie. When you open the documentation assistant or submit page feedback, the site creates a first-party cookie named visitor. It contains a random identifier used to keep your conversations and feedback connected and expires six months after your latest use of those features. The assistant also uses session storage to keep the current conversation connected while the browser tab remains open.

Payments

When you view localized pricing, open checkout, or manage a subscription, Paddle may use cookies or similar technologies to provide payment functionality, prevent fraud, and comply with legal requirements. Paddle controls these technologies under its own policies.

Your controls

You can accept or reject analytics through the cookie controls on documentello.com. Most browsers also let you view, delete, and block cookies. Blocking essential cookies can prevent sign-in, billing, and other parts of Documentello from working. Session storage is normally cleared when its browser tab is closed and can also be removed through browser settings.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service or the technologies it uses change. The current version will always be available on this page.
