Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: 23 October 2026

This policy protects Documentello, our customers, documentation readers, and the wider internet. It applies to all content, files, domains, requests, and activity using the service.

Use the service lawfully

You may not use Documentello to create, store, publish, or distribute content that:

  • violates applicable law or encourages unlawful activity;
  • infringes intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights;
  • contains child sexual abuse material or sexually exploits minors;
  • promotes terrorism, human trafficking, or credible violence;
  • is defamatory, unlawfully discriminatory, or intended to harass or threaten;
  • facilitates fraud, phishing, impersonation, or deceptive practices; or
  • contains malware, malicious code, or instructions primarily intended to compromise systems.

Protect the service and others

You may not:

  • probe, scan, or test systems without authorization;
  • access accounts, content, or data you are not authorized to access;
  • interfere with the service, bypass limits, or place an unreasonable load on infrastructure;
  • use automated activity that disrupts normal operation or ignores published technical controls;
  • circumvent billing, capacity, security, or access restrictions;
  • resell or provide the service in a misleading way; or
  • claim endorsement by or affiliation with Documentello without permission.

Responsible AI use

Do not use AI features to generate unlawful content, expose confidential or personal information without authorization, impersonate people deceptively, or automate decisions that create legal or similarly significant effects without appropriate human review.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for people you invite and for activity performed through your account or sites. Take reasonable steps to secure access, manage invited editors, and respond to reports about published content.

Enforcement

We may remove content, restrict functionality, suspend a site, or terminate an account when we reasonably believe this policy has been violated. Our response will reflect the severity, history, and risk of the conduct. We may act without advance notice when needed to prevent harm, preserve security, or comply with law.

We may use automated security signals to identify malicious activity. Reports about content and account-level enforcement decisions are reviewed by a person when appropriate. When we restrict content, a site, or an account, we will normally explain the reason, scope, whether automation was used, and available appeal process unless notice would create a security risk or is prohibited by law.

We may report suspected illegal activity to relevant authorities and preserve information when legally required. Where practical, we will notify the account owner and provide an opportunity to appeal or correct the issue.

Reporting a concern

Report abuse or unlawful content to [email protected]. Include the exact URL, a clear explanation of why the content is unlawful or violates this policy, your name and email address unless the report concerns sexual abuse or exploitation of a minor, any supporting information, and a statement that you believe the report is accurate and complete. We will acknowledge the report and notify you of our decision and available redress when we have sufficient contact information.
